CLINICAL EXPERIENCE
In-patient rounding on spine and cranial neurosurgical patients, including post-op, trauma and CVA/vascular.
Neurosurgical clinic including complete history and physical examination; initiation of diagnostics and therapeutics; patient disposition along with arrangement of appropriate follow-up.
Assisting the physician on duty with neurotrauma call, in-patient and ED consults, patient admits, discharges and transfers.
Assistance in OR
Complete history and physical examination; initiation of diagnostics and therapeutics; patient disposition along with arrangement of appropriate follow-up.
Assisting the physician on duty with triage, maintenance of life-support measures, and coordinating transfer of patients to the ER.
Urgent care medicine including: internal medicine, OB-GYN, pediatrics, minor trauma, geriatrics, dermatology, allergic reactions, basic orthopedics and male GU.
Procedures: local anesthesia; abscess I & D’s; laceration repair; nail bed repair; foreign body removal from soft tissue including the cornea; wound care; splinting; reductions of simple, closed dislocations; IV insertion; and phlebotomy.
In charge of clinical research protocol implementation, coordination and monitoring of patient care in the areas of pulmonology, immunology and rheumatology from March 1995 to July 2002.
Duties included collection of clinical data, monitoring patient status and adverse events, distribution of medication, and reporting serious adverse events to the pharmaceutical companies and FDA.
